I featured Hope for Women on SMM back in August when I first discovered the Tagua bracelets. Oh, how lovely. And the more I learned about Hope for Women, the more I am amazed by what they do for women around the world.
Here’s an excerpt from their site:
Hope For Women brings premium quality, Fair Trade products created by women artisans to the mainstream marketplace. We are a socially responsible organization committed to providing sustainable employment for economically disadvantaged women worldwide. We offer products exclusively made by women so they can take control of their lives and their futures. Hope For Women is a proud member of the Fair Trade Federation. Every woman is paid a fair, livable wage under safe and healthy working conditions. We aim to have the highest environmental standards in all aspects of our business, and incorporate our “green” ethic into our products, packaging, and every decision we make.
And check out their home products. I think the vase above would look great in our guest room.
Hope for Women’s giveaway will have TWO winners. The first winner will receive ONE Tagua bracelet. The second winner will receive ONE set of 4 greeting cards from the India Collection. The Tagua jewelry is made from nuts found within the seed pods of the Ivory Nut Palm, a native species of the Colombian rainforest. And the greeting cards are made of handmade “tree-free” paper faced with real pressed wild flowers and native plantings from the foothills of the Himalayas. This giveaway is only for U.S. residents.
Each bracelet is made by economically disadvantaged women artisans and their families. You can feel proud wearing this bracelet knowing it is changing and improving lives. Money collected from the bracelets also help provide incentive to protect and maintain the rainforest.

My friend walks my son into school and to class with her son so I don’t have to drag my daughters out in the cold every morning, such a small thing but such a huge help
I’ve been babysitting for her while she is trying to get her home business up and running.
I love the el salvador collection, especially iris, magdalena, and rosa.
My mom watches my daughter for a few hours so I can do some housework and a little shopping, often on short notice. It’s amazing how even an hour helps.

I love the Amaryllis and Rosa cards form the El Salvador collection.
I work at a restaurant part-time, and the other day a table decided to pay for another table’s bill. They didn’t want the table to know it was them so they made the server wait until they had left. It was so sweet watching the whole thing unfold! And the table was so elated that someone had done something so nice for them. So, that’s what I want to do this holiday season. Surprise someone randomly by paying for their check.
I love the Fire tagua for tabletop decoration. It’s so cool!

This holiday season I organized a “giving tree” at my daughter’s cheer/dance gym. I coordinated it through the city and put tags on the christmas tree in the lobby. Each family took a tag, will purchase the gift or giftcard, and we will then donate all of the gifts to needy families in our community.

With the young women from our church we will be doing a food drive to help a local shelter restock for christmas. We are also going to take stockings to the children at the shelter.
One of my friends found two space heaters for us to borrow this past week. Our furnace died, we had two medical emergencies, and were broke. She really went out of her way so that we could have heat.
A group of us are knitting hats for the homeless this winter.
The tagua bracelets are beautiful!
My mother-in-law came to visit and freely gave of her baby-sitting services. We don’t live near potential sitters, so it’s been months since my husband and I have been out alone. It was a very nice change of pace, and it was free!
I most live the blue and green beaded Tagua bracelet.
Someone gave us a turkey.
I follow this blog!
I really love the Tagua bracelets. Wonderful work. Wonderful women.
I posted on facebook.
My husband and I don’t have any kids of our own yet, so we decieded to shop for some kids for the Angel Tree project in our town. We had a blast shopping for these little ones. We got a sibling group with 4 children and one of the children is in my Kindergarten class. I am so excited to see her wearing her new clothes AND I can’t wait to give this gift of giving to our kids one day…we will, for sure, include them in this joy!
