Have you noticed I’ve been asking you questions? At the end of most posts, I’ve been asking you to tell me what you think about the post topic. It’s a way for me to encourage you to comment. Why would I want you to comment? Because I honestly enjoy reading what you have to say.
And all of you who are reading Simply Modern Mom through your email or RSS reader, please click through to the actual post to comment. I have been receiving some of your comments in my email. Which I don’t mind reading your comments in email, but I think other readers would like to read what you have to say too.
Lastly, I try to reply to comments, especially ones where you ask me questions. Let’s have conversations.

I do this too at the end of most of my posts, I think it encourages people to get more involved which is partly why I blog. The community and discussion is important to me. I have a blog question for you, are you on WordPress? I’m on blogger and I got my own domain but I think I’d like to have more control, I hear WordPress is the way to go.

yes. i use WP. i love it. it’s great for what i do w/ all the features i need. if you are using the free version of WP, it is limited to what you can do. it has simple and basic features and templates. if you pay for it, you have more control over it. Nathan, my in-house tech, hosts SMM on his server. therefore we are able to do anything to the design and back end of WP.
I’m wanting more community and interaction on my blog too! It’s hard to get people to comment, at least so far. But I have to remember I’m the same way, without little reminders like yours today, there’s so much to do and commenting can be that one extra thing that falls off the table.
Do you have any books/online resources for wordpress? I know your husband helps out alot, but if I’m seriously considering switching from blogger, then I should probably figure it out first
Hi Mari! The only WordPress help I would be able to refer you to would be http://wordpress.org/support/. Nathan is my tech and he handles all that stuff. I just asked him if he had a place I could refer you to. Nope. Everything he knows is in his head. I wish I could put all his tech knowledge into print form and sell it. It would be very valuable.
I love WP, but simple because I have it on our own server. Which means we can do whatever we want to it – just about. But the free version is quite limited in what you can do. See my comment above.
Hi Mari,
Maybe we can do the switch at the same time, I think I am going to move in a couple of months. Need to do a bit of research first and work out exactly what I want to get out of it. I think I’ll move to a free WP one first then see how it goes. Lots of Googe searches coming soon!
