Intriguing Sites: Men in Aprons

I love it when my husband cooks. He may not be a gourmet chef, but don’t mind getting break from cooking. It’s a rare occasion when we eat out, so I am in the kitchen at least three times a day, seven days a week. It is exhausting planning meals, getting groceries, searching for recipes, preparing the meals, cooking the meals and cleaning up after meals.

Men in Aprons is a fun site with cleaver cooking ideas and recipes for men. But I think there are things from that site I would like to try. If anything, it makes cooking a little more of a lighthearted task. It’s for male cooks at any level whether he needs to learn to how make scrambled eggs or find tips to grilling. Ziploc omelette, Hatch Chile Baked Mac & Cheese or Mission Moon Rocks.

Hey guys! Here’s a Valentine’s Day idea… Make your wife a special Valentine’s Day dinner by using Men in Aprons. You’re welcome.

Ladies, does your husband/boyfriend cook? What is your favorite dish he makes?

My boyfriend does cook which is such a relief! He makes great curries and pasta dishes but I think my favourite is his paella – so good! I got him a bread maker for Christmas 2008 and he makes bread regularly as well as naan bread for the curry and pizza dough. We have homemade pizza at least once a month. It takes a lot of pressure off when both of you cook and it’s fun to cook together and concoct your own recipes together.

My husband does a pretty good job at making cinnamon toast (bread, butter, cinnamon, sugar, and the toaster). Besides that, I think he could use a class. I think for one of our date nights, we are going to make chocolate chip cookies together. He admitted last night that he doesn’t know how to make them.

Since we married my husband has taken over most of the cooking. Je says it relaxes him after a stressful day at work. I do the child bathing thing while he gets dinner ready. I find the recipes and he makes them. I cooked for so long I don’t mind handing over the reins except when he ‘experiments’. Ummm. Not so fond of that.

Ooo…those wings look good, I’ll have to try that recipe.

My husband used to do all the cooking. The first five years of marriage, I maybe cooked two dozen times – no joke. Now we share it equally.
