A Giveaway for Cystic Fibrosis

***This giveaway is closed. Thanks for all your donations!***

All right my lovely readers. I have always bragged about how I have the best readers in the blogosphere. I love all your comments and feedback on my posts. Now I am asking a little more from you…

Simply Modern Mom has teamed with Rose Pedal an organization that sponsors a charity bike ride each year to raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. All the money raised goes directly to the foundation. That’s right, 100 percent of it. Cystic fibrosis is summed up as an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States. Many of them didn’t live past elementary school age. But with the help of modern medicine, many of those with CF are living well into their 30s and 40s.

Why do I care so much about CF? The family who started the Rose Pedal charity ride are amazing people. Zane and Joye have a daughter, Greyce, who has CF. After many routine hospital stays, surgeries and doctor bills Greyce is a lovely young lady in her 20s. And rather than raising money for themselves, they are giving every penny to support the cause. Really, this is a family of tremendous love, generosity and charity in their hearts.

The giveaway

So here is what is up for grabs if you donate. By making a contribution to Team Simply Modern Mom, you have a chance to win the necklace pictured above or one of these bracelets pictured below. There will be 2 winners for the bracelet and 1 winner for the necklace. I thought I would give you the chance to win something for your generosity. Every little bit counts.

To enter the giveaway, you must do the following.

  • Donate any dollar ($1 or more) amount to Team Simply Modern Mom. Remember, all of your donation will go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. By doing this, you get one entry.

For more entries, you can…

  • Donate more money. For every $5 you donate you get one additional entry to this giveaway.

So, for example. If you donate $20 to Team Simply Modern Mom you get 5 entries for the giveaway. One for making a donation, then 4 for every $5 increment you donated. Got it?

Entries will end Friday, April 16. I will randomly choose the winners from a list provided by the Rose Pedal organization with names and PayPal email addresses of everyone who donated. Make sure you donate using the Team Simply Modern Mom page and your PayPal email address is one where I can reach you if you are the winner. This giveaway is only for U.S. residents, although anyone can donate money. By the way, the donation site doesn’t update your donations instantly. Check back later to see the statuses of the donations.

Thanks so much for contributing what you can to help those in need. You are providing a better life for these children who were told they don’t have a long life to live.

» Tell me, do you know someone with cystic fibrosis? Or what is a charity you like to support?

Thanks for the opportunity! My best friend has CF and is the most amazing woman in the world! Her little sister lost her life to CF 15 years ago after a double lung transplant She is now 31 and a proud mama to the cutest little 3 year old boy. She has beat all the odds and continues to live a mostly healthy, but definitely inspirational life. Needless to say, people who care about CF are awesome in my book:) Every penny helps!

My mom was the CF coordinator for the CF program at the UofU. She’s worked closely with CF patients over the last 15 years and has seen tremendous strides in the medical field to improve life-span and quality of life for those suffering from CF. It’s astounding how much things have improved, but there’s always room for more growth!

I love what you’re doing to raise funds and awareness about CF. It’s really a heart-breaking disease.

This is a wonderful cause. My 2 1/2 year old daughter has CF. Life is a constant roller coaster ride healthwise and emotionally. It is great to know that people care enough to get involved in raising awareness and funds. Thank you.

Thank you so much for bringing awareness to the wonderful Cystic Fibrosis foundation. My Grandson Zack who is now 9 was diagnosed with this awful illness before he was two. With more awareness comes the opportunity for more funding to help find a cure for this disease.

    Hugs…Tracy :)

Made my way over from “Tatertots and Jello.” My husband has CF, and is a healthy (almost) 32 year old. His older brother also has CF. It’s always wonderful to see people supporting the CFF…it’s what keeps my hubby healthy!
