Nathan and I stopped going to the movie theater a long time ago. We used to go all the time in college. Now we maybe go once a year. I know. We’re pathetic. But do you feel like it’s getting expensive now? We usually try to rent the good ones and watch it in the comfort of our own home. Although, it’s nothing like watching it on the big screen. So here are some movies I thought would be fun to watch this summer, but probably won’t until it’s out on DVDs…
- Killers or Knight and Day. These two movies seem so similar in their trailers. I’m not sure which one will be a flop and which one will be good.
- Morning Glory. I love that it’s about journalism. That’s what I studied in college. And it has a great cast.
- Toy Story 3. I love Pixar and Toy Story 1 and 2. So I’m sure this one will be just as good. Now, this one we will watch in the theaters because we got 3 free tickets to watch this on the big screen. I’m excited!
- Despicable Me. This one looked cute.
- Mao’s Last Dancer or Step Up 3D. If you like dance, these are for you. Amazing dancing. I love dance. Even though Step Up movies are pretty cheesy, I love the dance. And this one has Twitch in it from So You Think You Can Dance. Who doesn’t love Twitch?
» Tell me… Which movies are you going to the theaters for this summer?
I liked Killers. It was cute and funny. And only slightly cheesy! lol
Toy Story 3 was great (and we didn’t even see the 3D version). The kids were quiet the whole time (no small feat for a 20m old and 4yr old). My girls are running around with Buzz and Jessie dolls all day now.
Shrek 3 – only OK
Those are all the movies we’ve seen this year (sad I know).
Killers was OK, but Knight and Day was much better I thought.
Toy Story 3 was sooo good! I bawled!
This is my lineup of things to must see this summer: Toy Story 3, Karate Kid, and The Last Airbender. Will probably see the last airbender before the rest, I just loved the animated series, Avatar.
The Killers was ok, nothing spectacular. But I can’t say I regret going to watch it because I love Kathren Hiegle. I really want to see Knight and Day too.
I can’t believe that Mao’s Last Dancer or Step Up 3D made your list… I guess there really aren’t many good movies out this summer.
Toy Story 3 was the best animated movie I’ve seen in a long time. I cried like a baby!
Toy Story 3 was SO good and I just blogged about it, too!

We were wishing Karate Kid and Prince of Persia came out at different times so we could see them, too.
Yeah, we don’t go to the movie theater either. OCCASSIONALLY, we will go, and I would like to take the kids to Toy Story 3 due to all the rave reviews. If we do go, it is a matinee to save money. As far as Eclipse coming out, I would LOVE to go. However, I can spare the $30 it will take for Jon and I to see it together (I wouldn’t have to twist his arm but he has a rep to protect, ya know. ha!) and spend it on the DVD when it comes out to own it!
My sister took her 4 y.o. to see Toy Story 3. The movie scared him & he cried. As did a ton of other kids in the theater. A bunch of the parents actually got up & left before the movie was finished due to their kids being terrified. Some adult friends of mine have seen it too. Only one positive review from anyone I know. This is shocking because the first two were great. I will wait for this one to come out on DVD.
