Papaya Milkshake Recipe

I can’t believe I’m actually sharing this with you. This is one of my summer secrets. Papaya milkshake is a favorite around here. It is the best type of milkshake ever. I grew up in Hawaii where we had access to the juiciest, sweetest and largest papayas. Oh. The kind that melts in your mouth. Yum. If you are lucky enough to have good papaya around where you live, you will have to try this.


  • 1/4 – 1/2 of a whole papaya, depending on size of papaya
  • ice cubes, enough to fill the blender
  • 1-1 1/2 cup milk or half and half
  • 2-3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk

Cut papaya in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds. Using a spoon, scoop out the meat of the papaya and put into the bottom of blender. Then add enough ice to fill the remainder of the blender. Add remainder ingredients and blend until smooth. Add more milk if needed.

    This milkshake looks amazing. I’m wondering what coconut milk would do to the flavor/consistency in place of the sweetened condensed milk. Guess I need to go buy me a papaya, actually there may be a bag of frozen (i know) papaya in my freezer. YUMMY! πŸ™‚

      i’m sure it would work with frozen papaya, but it would be thicker since the juice from the fruit is frozen. so you may want to add more milk to it.

    I actually made this butt added fresh mangos and a hint of vanilla to the mix umm it was delish I live in Puerto Rico so finding this fruits during this time of the year was easy πŸ™‚
