Intriguing Sites: Pictory

I am not a professional photographer. But I do love looking at sites with amazing photography. Pictory. It’s a step up from just pretty photography. It is full of personal stories from those who submitted photos to the site.

You see… there is a theme. Every so often, I’m not sure on their schedule, a new theme occurs. And anyone can submit a picture and their caption relating to the theme. It is fascinating browsing through the gallery of photos presented in each theme. I love that each picture has personal meaning and a story to tell. That is the way photography should be.

You will enjoy Pictory (picture + story). It will bring you laughter and wisdom all on one site.

One Response to Intriguing Sites: Pictory

  1. I love Pictory!
I am also inspired by Photojojo {content.photojojo.com}, but in a different way. Pictory often inspires me by the depth or arc of a story held in an image. Photojojo is more practical – like sparking creative ideas for photo projects.
I’m also very inspired by Shelley Paulson {blog.shelleypaulson.com}, a photographer based in Minneapolis who does mostly portrait, wedding, and equine photography. She says “If you woke me tomorrow and told me I couldn’t be a photographer anymore, it would be like telling me I was going to be blind for the rest of my life.” Her work shows it. She sees and shows beauty through her photographs in a way that is stunning.
Others photoblogs I like: Underpin Photography, A Walk Through Durham Township, Pennsylvania, The Big Picture
