I spent the majority of Friday making cupcakes for Kaye’s birthday party. While making the cupcakes, I decided to double the batch and deliver some to our friends. When Nathan came home that evening, we ate an early dinner then made the deliveries. We had five stops. That also meant we didn’t get home until around 9:30 p.m. Lesson #1: Cupcakes are a great way to bring smiles to friends.
We did break one of our date night rules. We had our kids with us. Since this cupcake thing was a total last minute idea, we didn’t have time to set up for a babysitter. The kids were very patient making all those stops. And they also got to see some of their friends. Lesson #2: This will be the last time we break the “No kids” rule.
Nathan said: This date also felt like Christmas time because the kids had Christmas songs playing in the car and we were driving around delivering goodies. Had we caroled at each house that would have topped it off – but we didn’t, thankfully.
