Project 52: To the Theater

So last week I was in Washington (state). After two years of Nathan going through his MBA program, we were finally able to travel. So the first trip was out to Washington to visit his family and attend the wedding of his best friend from high school. It was a family trip but one of the nights we had a babysitter watch our children while we attended a play that starred another one of Nathan’s high school friends. Lesson #1: Date night can be possible even when you are traveling.

The play was How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. It was hilarious. Nathan’s friend Jeff had the lead role. And the lead female role was Jeff’s fiancée. The play was also so fitting for Nathan who just finished his master’s in business. We just enjoyed a night out with Nathan’s family and childless. And even though we didn’t have to we still dressed up because it was our date night. Lesson #2: Dressing up can make a difference to the feel of your date. We sure felt fancy that night.

Nathan said: Going out to see the play was a lot of fun. We were worried about the kids adjusting to the time difference but it all worked out and Tiffany and I enjoyed being out of the house (and away from the kids) for an evening. I was also able to see a good friend I haven’t seen in a long time which made the night even better.

» Tell me… Do you like to watch plays and attend theatrical performances? What about your spouse?

Project 52 Date Nights

    1. We enjoy seeing plays. We would do it more often if we had more babysitters.

    2. We love going to the theatre! I think I should look into it for a date soon!
I’m behind on this week’s date. It’s happening tonight :-)

    3. I love it. Some of our favorite dates have been to plays! It always more fun when you know people in the cast too.

This week for us: a date with scrabble. It was fun to revisit the game we so often played when we were first married. And it was fun to only choose to play words that had inside jokes, or were lovey dovey. I’m so glad we decided to do this date night thing!
