Labor Day weekend packed into my parents’ SUV and headed for a road trip to Alabama. Our journey took us to a farmer’s market that had all the personality and lovingness of a true Southerner. Weren’t the girls cute with their uncle Jeffrey?
We bought a set of hard wood legs from this vendor. My grandpa will be making us a piano bench with it.
All sorts of signs everywhere. Antique signs, animal crossing signs…
All sorts of antique and vintage items for sale…
I loved these bottles. They would look great on my kitchen window sill.
Tools… New or used. Auto parts. They’ve got it.
Saddles and such for horses. They had cages for animals. There were dog food, leashes and clothing also for sale for your pets.
Which lead us to the animals… Chickens, turkey, ponies, pigs, puppies galore, hamsters, birds, geese and goats.
Fresh produce. Yum. We bought bread and a ton of fruits.
And they sold guns and knives too, of course with golf balls…
And for lunch, we ate homemade ice cream. We had peach, strawberry and cherry vanilla flavors that the four of us shared. It was out-of-this-world good. And because you are in the South, the ice cream was churned by John Deere machinery.
» Tell me… What did you do last weekend? Did you take advantage of the 3-day weekend and go somewhere?
