Project 52: Wrapping Gifts

I love it when Nathan is in charge of date nights for the month. Not only does it give me a break from planning it, but he comes up with the greatest ideas for date nights. I have the best husband in the world. This week, he came up with the idea to wrap most of our Christmas gifts. I am mostly done with Christmas shopping. So Nathan came up with the sweet idea to wrap the gifts for date night to help relieve some of my stress this month. I know. He’s great isn’t he? But it didn’t end there. He popped in The Holiday movie and watched it with me. A chick-flick. Lesson #1: Marry an awesome husband.

We ended up staying up until past midnight wrapping gifts. It was all the little stuff and the odd shaped gifts that took the longest. The movie was great. One of my favorite chick-flicks. But the company of Nathan wrapping gifts with me was the best thing about this date. I just love spending time with this guy. Lesson #2: Marry an awesome husband who comes up with great date night ideas.

Nathan said: I love Christmas time and watching holiday movies while drinking hot cider/chocolate/vanilla/etc. and wrapping gifts. It is a great time to relax, laugh and talk. It also helps that Tiffany has been on top of the Christmas shopping this year. I still need to get her something. If you have any ideas shoot me an email at nate [at] simplymodernmom [dot] com. If I choose one of the ideas I’ll post it on here after Christmas.

» Tell me… What’s your favorite chick-flick movie? Would your husband watch it with you?

I just found your blog about a week ago, and am really enjoying it. Now I wish I had found it a year ago! This is a fantastic idea, and I love that everyone gets to share their date night ideas, too. Maybe we will just have to have our own Project 52 of 2011.

Your husband does sound like a great guy. Just curious, as the year has gone by do you feel that you (and he) have been more thoughtful about the dates and taken time to really think of something fun, or has it gotten more relaxed as the year draws to an end?

Hey Tiffany – Yes, my husband will watch a chick-flick with me. In fact, he planned an entire date around my all time favorite movie, You’ve Got Mail, a couple of years ago. Click the link to read the post! Like you said the best way to have romance in marriage is to “Marry an awesome husband!” 🙂

I’m afraid I’m not a movie fan (much to my prince’s chagrin!), but I LOVE the idea of having the gifts wrapped so far in advance…and with romantic companionship 🙂 ! It’s usually a last-minute stress-session…(not fun for either of us).
