Craft Project Show and Tell

I’m just going to be honest here and come out with it. Ever since the calendar turned 2011 I haven’t crafted one bit. I know! Shocking right? Sure, it has been a little busier than normal here, including some crazy weather. And 2011 came with a few new life changes that we are still adjusting to, but it is still January, right? January is all about adjusting.

And I can’t lie to you. I recently picked up a book and started reading. Gasp. I have always been a reader but the past year I have been more of a blog reader than a book reader. Sad. So lately I’ve had the urge to read from a book again. And it was nice even though I felt like I was having an affair with a book and totally neglecting my craft supplies that are quickly collecting dust. Also sad.

On top of this, I haven’t had a good crafty idea in my head in the past month. It’s like I’ve completely lost my mind. It’s blank every time I try to think of something creative. OK, pick up your jaws. It’s not permanent I’m sure. I think I was just burnt out a bit from all the holiday craziness that it has taken me a month to recover from it all. We are making plans to redo the girls’ room. That’s creative, right?

Anyway, I want to see what you have been working on, craft-wise. Link up below something you have made in 2011. Maybe it’ll help me get my creative juice back. So let’s have a linky party!

» Tell me… Have you had a crafter’s block, like a writer’s block but for crafting? How did you get out of it?

Do you have a link party button that I can add to my loving link party list? I love your blog and follow it all the time! Even participating in Project 52! That post will go up tomorrow on my site 🙂

I definitely have been in a crafting slump. It doesn’t help to move twice in one year and have all your supplies boxed up. Also throw in baby #3. So you feel that it’s pointless to start! So I am slowly getting out of it. It helps to draw inspiration from other blogs or magazines. Stroll through thrift stores too. I loved doing that.

I, too, have not crafted yet this year! And I’m sure that would shock anyone who knows me. If I had some extra time, I would just take out all my craft supplies and go through them, because that’s how I get a lot of my ideas. Maybe, if I decide that my supplies are lacking, I might take a little trip to Hobby Lobby and pick out some new things to get my creative juices flowing. If none of that works, I go to some of the crafting blogs I’ve bookmarked, and surely they will give me some inspiration.
