Even though Project 52: Date Nights ended at the end of 2010, Nathan and I are still planning on continuing it in our lives. We just won’t be posting it each week any more. Maybe once in a while just to see if you are still doing it. This year, I have a new Project 52.

One of my major goals this year is to improve my photography skills. Last year I learned to shoot only in manual. That was awesome. Now I am working at getting better at composition and not being lazy. Lazy photography means I just click away rather than really try to get it right so I don’t have to do any photo editing later.

Well, this year I decided to do a photography Project 52. And anyone can do this with me. You don’t have to be a photographer or even have a nice camera. As long as you have something that will take pictures (a camera or cell phone).

Two reasons why I wanted to do Project 52: Glimpse Into Motherhood. 1) I want to capture my mommy moments so I have something to look back and remember. 2) It is hard to get good photos of my children or of myself. So this will be good practice. Added bonus benefit for me, I want to see what motherhood is like for you. We are all modern moms. We have similar stories as well as different experiences. I want us to share that with each other.

Here’s what I am going to do. Each week, I’ll post a picture of a glimpse into motherhood through my eyes. My photos will be unedited so I can see if I am actually getting better in my photography. But for you, you can post whatever picture of your glimpse into motherhood and edit it if you like. And you can be any kind of mother – working mother, homemaker, grandmother and so forth.

The picture above is my first photo of Project 52: Glimpse Into Motherhood. When we were shopping at the fabric store in Nashville, my kids decided to take a break and sit on their window still. Although it was probably dirty, it was cute. So I grabbed my camera and snapped a photo before they moved.

3. Link to a post. You link you put down there needs to be to a specific post and not to the homepage of your blog. All links to the homepage of blogs, or to a store, or to an ad will be deleted.
4. Link back. It’s common curtesy that you link back to Simply Modern Mom when you put a link on my site. Here is a button with the html codes for you to use on your post when you link up.
