Friday’s 5 at 5: Topsail Beach Love

Thanks for all your wonderful comments about our beach vacation and my photos. Many of you asked where exactly we vacationed in North Carolina. I guess I will let you in our our little secret vacation spot. Our beach vacation was on Topsail Island. Here are reasons why we love Topsail…

  1. It’s quiet. This was the main reason we go to Topsail. We used to vacation at more popular beaches in Florida or South Carolina or North Carolina. But every time we go, there are always crowds of people at the beach. My family, we like less crowd where we don’t have to fight for a spot to put down our towels. And notice in my pictures, it was like we were on our own secluded beach. There were people there, but everyone had plenty of space to play.
  2. A fun things to do and see. Topsail in not very commercialized vacationing spot. So if you are looking for a place to party and go shopping then you will probably want to go somewhere else. Topsail still had lots of places to sightsee, including a small museum and a turtle rescue hospital.
  3. It is family-friendly. We enjoy this beach because we don’t have to worry about partying college students or the crazy night life like some of the more popular beaches. They have great parks for children and even family events in the parks during the summer. We happened to catch a concert in the park one evening that our girls enjoyed.
  4. Beautiful weather. It is sunny and beautiful each year we are there. Although, I probably wouldn’t go late in the summer as it is probably gets pretty steamy at the beach with the scorching sun.
  5. Great price. Since it’s not as popular as other nearby popular beaches, the rates are quite affordable.

While looking at your photos this week I could have sworn you were at Topsail! My family has been going there every year since I was in elementary school and now that we are all grown we still go back – the whole family and all of the kids every year. My husband and I were married there and it is one of the best kept secrets in NC. We actually have a pictures of us right under the pier posing just like you too! I’m glad to see another family making memories there too!

Oh my gosh! I grew up surfing at Topsail Island (and would quite often skip school and jet over to the beach!)

That is one of my favorite beaches (Wrightsville Beach is a close tie for me!)
Glad that others enjoy it as much as we do!
