Friday’s 5 at 5: Honey Jars

I am very particular about my honey. I spend a little extra money to buy local honey because I believe it’s better for you. I have always heard it helps with allergies, which Kaye gets seasonal pollen related allergies. And when I am sick, nothing is better than a glass of warm honey and lemon water. Anyway, when I purchase the local honey, I try to get it in gallon size. The problem is that I need a honey jar to make day-to-day usage of honey easier. Here are some that I liked…

  1. William Bounds Honey Jar with Dripper ($22.38).
  2. Le Creuset Honey Pot ($24.95).
  3. Core Bamboo Glass Honey Comb Jar ($14.95).
  4. Bianca Honey/Jam Jar by Trudeau ($16.95).
  5. Villeroy & Boch Honey Pot ($21).

» Tell me… How do you eat honey? We love to eat it in our oatmeal, drinks, smoothies, and even on toasts with butter.

Love the Le Creuset Honey Pot! Almond butter and honey. Hot tea and honey. All good.

When I was a kid I could only eat cheerios with warm honey drizzled on it. I have always detested syrup and so pancakes and waffles have always been eaten by me with honey. Ummm…

I do the same thing! We buy our honey from a brick & mortar farmers market. They sell honey from a local harvester in Flagstaff, AZ. We were buying it in quarts because of the great glass mason jars, but recently started buying it by the gallon. It is very economical this way and the quality and flavor is much better than we have been able to find at most any grocery store. I had a hard time finding the right honey pot and honey stick, It took about 3 years to find the perfect set. Thank you for posting this, and I love your prompts at the end of each of your posts. They always me think : )

My dad bought his own beehive last year and just gifted me a pint of his honey. Best. Stuff. Ever. Come over and taste some! We like it on toast or fresh, warm, wheat bread.
