Lacy Crochet Hat With Rosette Clip

I can’t keep track of how many of my friends are pregnant right now. There’s something in the water. And it seems like they are all having girls. Which is lucky for me because I know how to make girly gifts. So I made a lacy crochet hat. After I was done, it looked a little plain. So I made some rosettes and put it on a hair clip.

Crochet hats are kinda hot right now. Photographers like to use them in newborn and baby photo shoots. I love to use super soft yarn for baby hats. Very fitting for babies. And crocheting hats doesn’t take long at all. I can usually finish a hat in a day.

The rosettes are pretty easy to make. There are plenty of tutorials out there on how to make them. I had a friend show me how. I’m a visual learner. And I wanted to make it a removable hair clip piece so it can be worn independently.

Cute Eve. She’s my model. And she is hard to catch sitting still. But at least she has lots of hair to accessorize. She is getting so active and too big to model newborn stuff. I’m going to have to start finding new models.

» Tell me… Do you know a lot of people pregnant right now? Are you seeing a girl or boy trend with people you know pregnant?

So pretty! I love that you made the rosettes removable to use as a clip. And Eve is lovely. Those pudgy cheeks are begging for kisses!

What a great piece for a little girl. It’s something she’ll even like when she’s older, a challenge for growing kids. For decorating their room there’s some great wall art that she’ll love now and later. I’d had a lot of luck browsing the ‘baby’ collection.
