Adventures of Modern Mom: 30 By 30

I will be turning 30 next April. Realizing that April is less than six months away, I made a list of 30 things I wanted to do before I turned 30. At first all I could think of were things like go to the bathroom undisturbed, sleeping in past 8 a.m., buying something for myself that I want not need. Can you tell I am a mom? Then as I spent more time thinking of things I would like to do, I thought of actually fun things like go to a concert, visit a place I have never been before, interview my parents for personal history, gather some of my mom’s family recipes, make a new friend, go out on a nice date with Nathan and other stuff like that.

I started attacking my list over the weekend. I actually crossed two things off… sleep in past 8 a.m. Saturday morning all the girls were awake at 6:30 but Nathan took them downstairs and let me sleep in until 8:30! I can’t remember the last time I was asleep at 8 a.m. It felt good.

And then we also had friends watched our girls while Nathan and I went out for sushi. Eating sushi was on my list. I love sushi but because I have always been pregnant or nursing, I couldn’t do it before. I am finally not nursing or pregnant. So I ate a ton of sushi. It was so good!

» Tell me… Do you or did you have a list of things you wanted to do before turning 30 or 40 or any monumental age? What about anything you would like to do before your next birthday? What are some of the things on your list?

Yum! I <3 sushi. Good luck with your list. Sounds like you're off to a good start.

Thanks for the reminder about planning ahead and making a conscience effort to live the way we choose. I think the 30 before 30 is a great idea, however I’ll be 33 in March. I suppose it’s not too late for me:) Enjoy these next few months before your 30th!

I stumbled across your blog doing a google search and was reading through your posts. This is sooo cool! I will be 30 in September. I did exactly what you have done. A 30 before 30 list. Its kinda liberating. 🙂 Looking forward to see you mark more off.
