Along the same lines as the holiday tag garland I made yesterday, I made another garland for my house. A couple years ago I changed all of our Christmas decoration to a white theme. Before that, we just had a mixture of all different kinds of decorations leftover from college and stuff. I love a white Christmas theme. I just think it’s so elegant. So for the past couple of years I have been trying to collect little decorations here and little there.
When I came up with the idea for the tag garland, I thought I could do something similar for the archway of our house that needed a little flair. It’s a pretty side space and that’s why I decided to go with “winter wonderland.” And luckily I found glitter paper at Michael’s at half off and shimmery white card stock paper for cheap too. I made the garland for $6 because the ribbon I already had.
I used Fiskars Fuse system to cut out scalloped circles. And then I used Martha Stewart’s circle cutter to cut the glitter paper. Then I free-hand the lettering on each paper with a Sharpie. Glued it all together and hot glued it to the ribbon. It really was that simple.
